MAXWELL GOODWIN
Luxury Specialist

Max brings over 35 years of business and real estate expertise to his and his teams’ clients. Originally from the UK, Max arrived in the USA in 1980 on a scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, to complete a Masters degree in International Politics at the Annenberg School of Communications. After the delights of Philadelphia, Max moved to New York to work as a product manager in the High Carbon Steel Division of Tecnor, a subsidiary of UniMetal, the major French still producer at the time. Married to Victoria in 1991, they searched for a weekend home in The Hamptons, Hunterdon County, NJ, and finally the Millbrook area of Dutchess County, where they bought their first home in 1993. With the intent of renovating and building houses, Max obtained his real estate license in 1995 working for the Sotheby’s affiliate before setting up his own business, Millbrook Real Estate in 1999. Millbrook Real Estate thrived as a successful niche player in the mid-to-high end residential market in Dutchess and Columbia counties. With north of $200 million in personal sales over the years, Max has listed and sold many of the finest properties in the area. He has also developed considerable knowledge in renovating and building houses (six so far), as well as extensive working knowledge of land conservation and conservation easements. He has personally placed conservation easement on 400 acres of farmland.

In 2016 Max was delighted to merge with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Hudson Valley Properties in their launch of their Luxury Division, named Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Millbrook Real Estate, which has created new opportunities and benefits for our team and our client base. Max continues to live in Millbrook with Victoria and their two sons, enjoying country life and the diverse opportunities this amazing area has to offer.
